Kingfisher Airlines Limited leases India’s first A-321-200s from Pegasus Aviation Finance Company
Kingfisher Airlines Limited, India’s first Full Service-True Value carrier and Pegasus Aviation Finance Company, the world’s largest privately-held independent commercial aircraft lessor, have announced the closing of a sale and lease back transaction for two brand new Airbus A-321 aircraft to be delivered to Kingfisher and to India where Kingfisher will be the first operator. This complements Kingfisher’s existing fleet of 10 Airbus A-320s and 3 Airbus A-319s. The Airbus A-321 will be powered by IAE V-2500 engines and will be in a two class configuration consisting of 32 Kingfisher First seats and 119 Kingfisher Class seats. Bangalore, Oct. 30: Dubai-based Emirates Airline has launched eight flights a week service to the country’s IT hub, Bangalore, marking its fifth footprint in the South and eighth in the Indian skies. 
New Delhi, Oct 30: As the process to merge Air-India and Indian gathers momentum, a business model that is understood to have found acceptance among officials has recommended creation of the post of a group CMD for the merged entity with special business units (SBUs) headed by separate CEOs. 
With the government close to finalizing wedding plans for its grand union with Indian Airlines, the septuagenarian Air India has grounded the much-touted exercise of getting its cabin crew uniforms redesigned by the fashion gurus of India. 
Air-India has yet another angry customer — the civil aviation minister. Praful Patel was scheduled to fly the national carrier from London to Mumbai on Thursday night, when a delayed take-off — reportedly caused by the late arrival of the flight’s crew — made him change his plans. He flew back on Jet Airways instead. 
On September 28, 2006, the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel, held a meeting with the various carriers to discuss the growing losses in the Indian aviation sector. The minister said that there would be closer scrutiny of new applications before issuing licenses to new carriers. 
More cheap flights to India could come Singapore’s way, and fares could be as low as half the usual price.
