Air Deccan’s new Air tickets booking and cancellation policy

Air Deccan Low cost carrier Air Deccan has announced its new booking and cancellation policy. As per the new policy the airline has slashed rescheduling charges, offers open ticket and promises greater ticketing flexibility for passengers and comes into effect from October 12.

Ramkrishnan Sundaram, officiating CEO, Air Deccan said in a release: “We have been receiving extensive feedback from our passengers and we want to give them more of what they want. Our improved on time performance (OTP) has led to a steady increase in corporate travellers flying with us and their concern for greater ticketing flexibility is an important consideration for us. The new cancellation policy provides greater ticketing flexibility to our passengers’ while retaining the advantage of affordable fares.”

The new terms of the policy are:

Rescheduling Policy: Passengers can reschedule their ticket i.e. modify the flight, the sector, the route and the date of travel on payment of a rescheduling fee and a fare difference, up to 2 hours prior to flight departure. The rescheduling Fee has been slashed to Rs 500 per passenger per journey.

Cancellation Policy: Passengers wishing to cancel their ticket will be entitled to an Open Ticket in the name of the passenger. The Open Ticket is equivalent to the cost of the ticket after a deduction of Rs. 500/-. It is valid for a period of 180 days from the date of issue and can be redeemed for travel on any Air Deccan sector.
