Jet Airways pilot responsible for near collision
NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has held a Jet Airways pilot responsible for near collision with an Air India flight at the international airport here last Sunday.
The DGCA inquiry, which examined the transcript of Air Traffic Control, alleged “deficiencies” in the knowledge of the Jet Airways flight crew with regard to departure procedures.
The DGCA inquiry was carried out on the report of pilot of IC-802, operating between Chennai and Delhi, in which he had said he had followed the necessary instructions before making the final descend at the IGI Airport on Sunday.
The report alleged that the pilot of Jet Airways had delayed his departure without informing the ATC.
The allegation of the IC-802 plane was substantiated by the DGCA which said the Jet Airways pilot while “entering the runway did not act as per procedure….”
It said Jet Airways had not followed the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) supplement and “necessary action will be initiated.”
