Kingfisher Airlines steps into profits, says Mallya

Kingfisher Airlines Tirupati: “Kingfisher Airlines has stepped into the profit earning phase”, says UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya. Kingfisher Airlines is a subsidiary of the Vijay Mallya-owned UB Group.

Speaking to the media at Tirumala, he said the company’s 24th aircraft, an Airbus A321, is ready to start its commercial flights. Mallya also dropped broad hints that he may attempt to take over other private airlines, but refused to divulge details.

Mallya said that post-merger with Air Deccan, the Kingfisher-Air Deccan combine had emerged as India’s largest domestic airline connecting 69 cities with 570 daily flights, with a fleet of 76 aircraft.
