Bengaluru International Airport takes wings

BANGALORE: After 17 years of wrangling, delay and innumerable rounds of litigations and talks, the new Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) at Devanahalli became operational tonight. A couple of domestic flights landed at the new airport before midnight and the first international flight - Air India’s flight to Singapore - took off shortly after midnight. SpiceJet hikes fares after aviation fuel price hike

SpiceJet Airlines MUMBAI: Low cost airline SpiceJet has hiked its fare following the recent hike in aviation fuel price. Jet Airways flight suffers bird hit

Jet Airways MUMBAI: All the 156 passengers on board a Jet Airways flight from Delhi to Mumbai had a miraculous escape when the aircraft suffered a suspected bird hit.

Air Deccan airlines fined Rs 50K for Cancelling Air Ticket

Deccan NEW DELHI: The state consumer commission has pulled up private airline, Air Deccan, for cancelling the tickets of a passenger, booked six months in advance in a promotional fare scheme, just six days ahead of the departure date. The airline has been fined Rs 50,000 of which Rs 25,000 has been given as compensation to the consumer while the rest has been deposited in the state welfare consumer fund. e-ticketing to cover 90 percent of interline travel: IATA
