    Dear Sir,

Flight 6E307, INDIGO Airlines flight from Delhi to Hyderabad on 3rd of Sep 2009 was scheduled to leave at 20.30 hours. No delay was announced. It finally takes off at 21.30 hours and for next 5 minutes takes passengers through a ride closer to death and hell than any one could imagine. Passengers shouting and demaning the pilot to go back to Delhi. A Passenger with cardiac condition was shivering furiously. Some passengers insisted that he land at Nagpur and at least leave passengers safely. Vistually every ne was praying for his life, as I did too. Deep FREE Fall after FREE Fall seemed to be the norm wondeing whether PILOT was trained to FLY an AIRBUS. PILOT was possibly having little control over the planes path/free falls. HE WAS EVEN advised to wait before take off by DGCA/controller further for an hour BUT he did NOT. Pilot was Mr./Ms. NIEL ERNEST and did apologise though for his wrong decision to have taken off, in the interest of need for refuelling ( & extra COSTS) since he was taxiing for too long. THIS clearly proved to us that INDIGO compromise Passenger safety in the interest of LOW COST.

It reminded nearly all the passengers of what may have happened to the Chopper that killed the CM of AP a day before.

Purpose of highlighting this worst experience to you Sir is not that passengers like us who also have flown more than a million miles nationally and internationally, have a choice of other air lines and may walk away. It is to help you clean up your act so that ONE ACCIDENT and LOSS of one AIR BUS DOES NOT becomes the end of your operations. It may be harsh in the context of INDIGO winnign some awards for safety etc. but our experience cannot be denied. I was on seat 13D. Also you would be interested in protecting your future too.

We were really scared. INDIGO has beaten a Brasilian (budget) Airline when it comes to Air (UN) safety. My worst experience was with a brasilian airline in 2004, so far but INDIGO has taken that WORST Air Line SPOT for me. I have LOST faith in flying INDIGO, will prefer to travel by train if we cant afford JET Airlines/Kingfisher.

Please accept my apology for having been a bit harsh in my response which is some what unforgiving.

    Best Regards

    Dear Mr Aditya Ghosh,
Your airline will keep suffering from such incidents, so long as you do not have better operational flight safety among pilots. That can only happen when you get better pilots than Mr Lumba, who has only spoilt the environment by his abnornmally egotistic and high handed manner of treating pilots as VP ops. Hopefully with him gone shortly, things may improve. But, what’s your flight safety man doing for living?!!!! He can do more on this issue, as reported by Mr Nityanand Agarwal.
    Best wishes & Regards.
    Shekhar

    Dear Sir / Madam

My booking reference no is U6CRDS , and this was booked in name of Mrs Vimi Singh and Infant Master Adwaita Singh for 26th November 2009. I had called upon the customer relation officer at Indigo and had asked for the 1st Row seat which he mentioned that could not be possible now but can be changed at the time of boarding. I accepted the reply and booked the seat 9c. I spoke to the gentlemen at patna airport indigo office (0612 – 2227444) with Mr Neeraj Kumar Singh on the 24th November and put a request that if the seats are available then they would provide the 1st row seat for my wife who has problem with her leg and is carrying a infant on the day of the travel.

When my wife went to check in in the morning around 11.45 AM she was told by Mr Neeraj Kumar Singh that Indigo has sent in a circular wherein it has debarred any infant traveling from getting a seat from the 1st to 6th row. I was surprised to hear this but he insisted and duly mentioned that I should whatever I can but he would not consider my wife giving seat in the 1st row as he has received a very confidential circular.

I would like to mention that myself , my wife and my son are GOLD CARD holder of the Indian Airlines / Jet airways / Kingfisher and we have not been in such situation irrespective nth number of the travel we have been doing. We have always been given preference in seat allotment when traveling with my kid. I could have taken the discussion had been some VIP or some patient would have traveled but I cant digest the statement that the INDIGO Management has issued a circular that Infant would not be allotted any seat from 1st to 6th as they may create nuisance. I take this as personal offence to my child and my wife and would strongly condemn it.

I would also like to mention that I spoke to ur call center and the person was Mr Devender who clearly mentioned that there is no such policy were Infant and mother shouldnot be given seat in the 1st row.

I am totally at loss and would promise not to travel again by INDIGO irrespective of paying extra and traveling to patna from Mumbai. I also would circulate this unfortunate happening to as many people I know. I would also like to mention that Mr Neeraj Kumar Singh had mentioned that he cannot go against the rules and circular of the company I should do whatever I can
