Kingfisher Airlines plane skids at Mumbai airport runway, probe ordered

Kingfisher Airlines Mumbai: A Kingfisher Airlines ATR-72 aircraft skidded off the runway on Tuesday at around 1630 hrs IST while landing at the Mumbai airport, officials said. The airlines has ordered a probe into the incident. The aircraft carried 42 passengers and four crew members, and there are no casualties, a spokesman for the airlines said on Tuesday evening. Flights from non-metro airports to cost a Rs.1000 more

NEW DELHI: International travellers boarding from nine non-metro airports will have to fork out up to Rs 1,000 by way of a user development fee as the government looks to prop up the coffers of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). UAE Plane Carrying Arms detained in Kolkata, India KOLKATA: After trying to fob off Indian officials and investigators all of Sunday night, one of the pilots of the United Arab Emirates air force aircraft detained at Kolkata airport since Sunday finally admitted to the plane carrying a consignment of weapons. The C-130 Hercules among the biggest transport aircraft in the world was on its way to Xiangyang, China, from UAEAF’s Western Air Command base in Abu Dhabi. Although the UAE government had the necessary clearances from Indian authorities for the flight to land in Kolkata, it had not informed that the aircraft would be carrying weapons. Two swine flu cases in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Swine Flu New Delhi: A woman and her five-year-old son, who arrived from the US on Thursday, have tested positive for swine flu or H1N1 virus in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The two travelled to India via Dubai and arrived in Chennai on May 28. The same day, they took a Kingfisher Airlines flight to Coimbatore. As the child was running a fever, they went to a hospital, where they were immediately admitted to an isolation facility; their blood samples were found to be H1N1 positive.
