Air Deccan Cargo’s global operations put on hold
G R Gopinath, who kickstarted his Deccan Cargo air services during May earlier this year, has put the international operations of the cargo airline on hold even as the domestic operations kickstarted this week. Deccan Cargo & Express Logistics kickstarted its international network on the Delhi-Mumbai-Chennai-Hong Kong route and was also connecting to Dubai. KOLKATA: After trying to fob off Indian officials and investigators all of Sunday night, one of the pilots of the United Arab Emirates air force aircraft detained at Kolkata airport since Sunday finally admitted to the plane carrying a consignment of weapons. The C-130 Hercules among the biggest transport aircraft in the world was on its way to Xiangyang, China, from UAEAF’s Western Air Command base in Abu Dhabi. Although the UAE government had the necessary clearances from Indian authorities for the flight to land in Kolkata, it had not informed that the aircraft would be carrying weapons. 
Kolkata: India’s largest courier company Blue Dart, which operates its own fleet of aircraft for cargo, on wednesday said it would raise charges by up to 15 per cent to offset the spurt in jet fuel prices. 
NEW DELHI: Low cost airline SpiceJet Monday announced the launch of its cargo operations in the country. Initially, the service would cover eight major cities and would be expanded to all 18 destinations of the airline in the second quarter of the current fiscal. 
New Delhi: As a way of strengthening its newly rolled out food and farm retail outlets, Reliance Retail is now looking to launch its cargo or freighter services to fetch in fresh fruits and vegetables from various sourcing destinations across the country early next year. 
FedEx Express said Thursday it has bought Prakash Air Freight for $30 million in cash.
